Kamala Harris
Kamala Devi Harris born October 20 1964) is an American lawyer and politician who is the 49th and current vice president of the United States. Harris is the first female vice-president and highest-ranking female official in U.S. History, as being the first African American and second Asian American vice president. As a member of the Democratic Party, she previously served as the attorney general for California between 2011 and 2017 and was the state's attorney general from 2011 to 2017 and as a United States senator representing California from 2017 until 2021. Harris was born and raised in Oakland, California. Following her first job as an Alameda County District Attorney, Harris was enlisted to the San Francisco District Attorney's Office. Then she was appointed the City Attorney of San Francisco. The office was named San Francisco district attorney in 2003.
